Illustrated Everyday Life

I left Alcoi one September back in ’97 — more than half a lifetime ago now. I landed at Eina School in Barcelona to study graphic design. As a child, I was always drawing, and my school notes and assignments were filled with illustrated letters and lots of color. But somehow, like most adults, I grew up and drawing just didn’t seem to fit my age anymore.

Luckily, the pandemic reactivated that side of me — I needed to escape the screen for a while and dust off my markers and brushes. For some time now, I’ve been combining my work as a graphic designer at MMMM studio with illustrations of everyday moments and details, always in red and blue and, for the last couple of years, a bit of yellow too. I also reuse plain ceramics, giving them a new style and purpose. For example, I turned a teapot into an elephant planter, an old sauceboat into a girl with hair made of preserved flowers, and two cups into twin planters that envy each other.

For me, illustration is a form of expression but also of relaxation and meditation — and all of my work carries a lot of my life and experiences within it.

Welcome to my world: Red & Blue & a bit of Yellow.
